Custom Software Development
Internal tools, dashboards, quoting, scheduling and reporting, built around the process your Louisville business actually runs.
Who it’s for
Businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets, email threads and off-the-shelf tools that almost fit. If your team works around the software instead of with it, custom software is worth a look.
It suits owners and managers who know exactly how their process should run and are tired of bending it to fit another subscription.
What we build
- Internal tools that replace the spreadsheet everyone is afraid to touch.
- Quoting and estimating that follows your pricing rules and produces a consistent quote every time.
- Scheduling for people, jobs and equipment, built around how your week actually works.
- Customer-facing web apps when your clients need to see or do something themselves.
- Hosting and running it once it’s built, if you’d rather not: we manage the servers, updates and backups in accounts you own.
We build for iOS, Android, web and API, so a tool can start in the browser and grow a mobile app later.
How it works
- Scope. A fixed-fee discovery week. You leave with a written spec, a real number, and a timeline, whether or not you hire us to build it.
- Build. Working software every two weeks, not status reports. You use it as it is built, so course corrections cost days instead of months.
- Hand off. Source code, accounts and documentation transferred to you. Keep us on for support if it helps, but you are never stuck with us.
Most clients keep us on after hand-off. We host and run the software on a monthly plan: hosting, monitoring, backups, security updates and small changes, in accounts that stay in your name.
Pricing
Every project starts with the fixed-fee discovery week, so you know the real number before you commit to a build.
Frequently asked questions
Why custom software instead of an off-the-shelf tool?
Off-the-shelf tools are a good fit when your process matches theirs. Custom software makes sense when you are paying for workarounds: double entry, side spreadsheets, or steps the tool can't handle. The discovery week tells you which side you're on.
Do we own the software when it's done?
Yes. At hand-off we transfer the source code, the accounts it runs on and the documentation to you.
How involved do we need to be?
We need time with the people who use the current process during the discovery week. During the build, someone on your side tries each two-week release and tells us what is right and what is not.
Can you work with the systems we already use?
Usually, yes. Connecting to existing tools is common, and it's a service of its own: see Systems Integration.
What happens after launch?
Most clients keep us on to host and run it: hosting, monitoring, backups, security updates and a monthly allowance for small changes, all in accounts you own. If you'd rather take the software in-house or to another team, everything is documented and in your accounts either way.
Where does it run?
In cloud hosting accounts owned by your business. We set them up, and after launch we can either manage them for you or hand them over with everything else.
